Terms & Conditions
The competition is open to all artists internationally.
Artists must be aged 18 years or over to enter.
Entry fee is £12. This entry fee is non-refundable.
Accepted mediums include: Paintings, drawings, etchings, original prints, mixed media, sculpture. (This does not include photography or digital art of any description).
The exhibition at Gallery 8 will be open to the public from 6th July - 12th July 2025.
Works selected for the exhibition cannot be removed before the end of the exhibition.
All work must be for sale. All artworks are sold with a 35% commission taken.
Hampstead Art Society may reproduce any exhibited works, for the purposes of marketing, promotion, merchandise, including the exhibition catalogue and subsequent publications, posters, prints, postcards, the internet and within television documentaries.
The responsibility for damage or loss (from point of delivery to the final collection of the work), however caused, is the responsibility of the artist. The sponsor, the carriers, the judging venue, the touring venues, any other subcontractor or the Hampstead Art Society shall not be liable for any loss or damage, whether or not caused by their negligence.
The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence can be entered into. Artists should be aware that all works are judged on an equal basis.
Hampstead Art Society reserves the right to disqualify any piece of work if the artist has not adhered to the rules, even if the work has been selected for exhibition.
Maximum size of artwork eligible: 2 metres framed.
If the frame detracts, or adds significantly greater dimensions to the artwork (than the dimensions stated on application), Hampstead Art Society reserves the right to remove artwork from the exhibition, even if it has been selected.
Please note that judging is completed digitally. It is therefore important that the photograph uploaded by the artist is of a high quality.
Delivery / Shipping
For works arriving by post, courier:
Works should be shipped at least 4 weeks before the opening to avoid any delays.
Delivery In person:
Thursday 03 July, 09.00 – 17.00
Saturday 05 July, 17.00 – 20.00
Sunday 06 July, 09.00 – 11.00
Collection:
Sunday 13th July, 09.00 – 13.00
Monday 14 July, 09.00 – 18.00
Tuesday 15 July, 09.00 – 18.00
Entries that are hand delivered should be left without any protective packaging as this cannot be retained.
Deliveries by post will be accepted in suitable packaging.
All artists must arrange and pay for delivery of their work.
If works are being shipped by courier, artists must take full responsibility for all costs, including any import customs charges and duties. When sending works from abroad the artist should not tick the box advising the courier company to bill the recipient.
It is the artist’s responsibility to check with their courier company that their paintings have cleared customs and have been delivered on the allocated dates.
It is the artist’s responsibility to arrange and pay for collection of their works at the end of the exhibition, timing to be agreed with Hampstead Art Society in advance.
If the original packaging is no longer suitable for use, we can provide packaging materials but there will be an additional charge for this service.
All unselected works must be collected from the London judging venue on the dates listed, during the times specified.
Any paintings uncollected from London after July 15th 2025 will be disposed of without prior notice.
Note that for works being collected by a courier the artist must provide 48 hours advanced notification to ensure work is prepared for collection.
